Many people rely on instant foods, processed meals and snacks which often contain added sugar. Dietary guidelines suggest limiting calories from added sugar to less than 10% per day.
Excessive added sugar has many negative health effects. An excess of sweetened foods and beverages can lead to weight gain, obesity, type 2 diabetes and an increased risk of heart disease, among other dangerous conditions.
By simply FOCUSING ON EATING WHOLE, UNPROCESSED FOODS can automatically decrease the amount of sugar in your diet.
Some ways to reduce your intake of added sugars:
– Swap sodas with water ?
– If you’re a coffee drinker, drink your coffee black without sugar ☕️
– Use fresh or frozen berries to sweeten your youghurt (than buying flavoured ones) ??
– Eat whole fruits than eating sweetened flavoured smoothies ???
– Prepare your own healthy meals at home ???and avoid buying foods and drinks that are high in added sugar.
