Cursed in Love by Emily Colin

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this lighthearted quirky story we meet Rune, a spirited independent woman who despite being clumsy and having moments of incredibly hilarious bad luck, still manages to have made a life as a graphic designer with her very own little house and rescue kitty to go with.
She has a few good friends and is surrounded by a community that likes to know everyone else’s business but no-one believes she has a curse.
When she and hunky spreadsheet guy get paired together for a project at work her already complicated life gets even more so. Hilarity and Mayhem ensue, along with excellent milkshakes and lots of great twists.
I loved getting to know Rune & Donovan. The way Rune deals with her secret and her life, the humour and resignation to it all felt very real. Donovan who is almost entirely the opposite in nature brings a whole new level of to the story and gets the towns tongues wagging (just you wait, these ladies are totally hilarious).
Rune & Donovan get entangled in a variety of ways. The hilarity and mayhem get bigger and better while we get to know them both. We get to know more about their insecurities and pasts and how that has affected their present selves. There are secrets that get revealed that I didn’t see coming that help us delve deep into many of the characters lives that help the story open up and give me a few more surprises.
I really did enjoy reading this book. I didn’t feel it was a chore, it flowed nicely and I wanted to keep reading to know more. I loved Rune, her quirks, clumsiness and then when we meet Donovan it just got better for me.
I would definitely read more books from Sapphire Springs and it’s inhabitants, they are quirky, hilarious and quite real feeling, I related to them somehow.
